The Neonatal Trust (Otago) is very honoured and grateful to have the following people as Ambassador(s) for the Trust:

Jenny Beck

Jenny hails originally from South Africa but has lived in New Zealand for 24 years now and considers Dunedin the best, most hospitable home in the world.

She arrived here with her then husband with 3 sons and went on to have 5 more!

There's a 19 year age difference between the eldest and the youngest. Jenny LOVES being a mother; it's the single most important feature of her life. Her neonatal experience happened in 1998 when their 7th son had a short stay in the NICU. Jenny recounts that memory as the most seminal experience a person could have, grief and joy often occurring simultaneously. She will always be grateful for the wonderful kindness and "ubuntu" (humanity) shown to her and her family.

Jenny has worked as a lawyer for 20 years, having had the good luck to study law at the University of Otago (including being taught by her ex-husband!).

She has run own firm Jenny Beck Law since 2001 with increasing confidence and always enjoyment. She practices from great offices in Bracken Court in Moray Place that boast their own deck! Jenny does mainly family and employment law, but the firm is a general practice with 7 solicitors so handle just about anything.

Jenny is also a part time pastor at the Dunedin City Baptist Church (DCBC) and enjoys doing creative writing for fun and relaxation.
